When Sara and I first sat down and met with Danielle and Kevin we knew right away there was something very special about their relationship. For starters, the nearly 115 miles that separates them as Danielle completes medical school makes the bond they have starting out their relationship that much stronger. Not to mention all the unknowns associated with where they will end up once she finds a residency just proved to us how much these two were in love.
Danielle and Kevin were engaged on 3.14.15, that’s right for all you math wizards out there Pi day! This was a very special day for Danielle and she always wanted something special to happen on that day and Kevin came through and made that happen and he really did it up! He planned a whole Pi day for them starting at a stout beer fest, adding a walk through a riverside park in Cincinnati where he dropped to one knee and proposed, then topped it off with dinner at her favorite Pi Pizzeria! Danielle and Kevin are quite the beer enthusiasts and they plan to have a special brew for their wedding celebration. This is a good thing for us to note because our engagement questionnaire asks our couples what their favorite wine is…..they prefer beer and we totally appreciate that, so it may be time to update that to favorite adult beverage.
For their fall engagement session, Danielle and Kevin chose Inniswood Metro Gardens as the backdrop for their images. I met them on a Saturday morning just before 10 and it was a little brisk for an October morning and the steel of my light-stand felt more like an icicle. We kept moving to stay warm and generated some heat as the sun came up and were surprised to see as many other people out there that early as well.
Danielle and Kevin brought along a few neat props to incorporate into their photos and I took them on my journey through the Metro Gardens looking for popping fall colors and angles to capture the feel of fall and tell their love story all at the same time. I had a great time walking through the gardens with them and shared a few laughs as we waited our turn at some key locations for photo opportunities. Although the temperature was a little chilly these two surely warmed my heart with their beautiful smiles and allowing me to create beautiful images for them.
When we learned they were getting married at our favorite Columbus, Ohio wedding venue, Dock 580, we were nearly foaming at the mouth to photograph their wedding! We simply love this venue, the staff and ambiance it allows us to fill our lenses with, we simply can’t wait for their April 16th, 2016 Wedding!
