When Caleb told me that his and Ashlee’s wedding would be a little more complicated than any other wedding, I was immediately interested, and after hearing the story of their engagement, I knew that I had to be part of their wedding.
Ashlee and Caleb found each other online and had been communicating every day for about 4 months before they met in person. Ashlee first met Caleb in her hometown of Dryden (“middle of nowhere”), Ontario, Canada. Caleb flew 12 hours into Canada and then had to rent a car to drive the rest of the way because he wasn’t able to fly directly into Ashlee’s town. They agreed to meet each other in a park, so Ashlee waited with her dog, Samii for Caleb to arrive. When Caleb arrived, they gave each other a hug, had a picnic, went for a walk, enjoyed nature and got to know even more about each other before going to Ashlee’s parent’s house.
On November 03, 2014, Caleb proposed to Ashlee. Caleb planned a surprise horseback riding trip and picnic for Ashlee. After their ride, they sat down to eat their picnic lunch in front of a round bale of hay in a field. Ashlee said that it was lovely and sunny day complete with butterflies flying around them. Ashlee suspected that Caleb might propose that day because it would be a perfect time, but she told herself that she would not let her expectations ruin the beautiful day. It turns out that she was right and Caleb got down on one knee to ask Ashlee to marry him. Of course she said yes!
After the engagement, Ashlee and Caleb had to wait to be approved for a Visa in order to be able to even start planning their wedding. They were finally approved on May 27, 2015. They only had 90 days to get married once Ashlee entered the United States due to the Visa requirements. This came with some challenges and obstacles that they were able to overcome, one of which was finding a photographer who could accommodate such a short timeline and some unknowns.
That’s where MakRabbitt came in to help! I told Caleb not to worry and that we would be able to make it work even though there were many uncertainties with venue location and timing. We were so happy to be able to help this wonderful couple. Here are some highlights from their wedding day.
