Tony and I first met Michelle and Tom in April of 2013 at Michelle's best friend's wedding. In December of 2015, Tom and Michelle were engaged and Tony and I were thrilled when they chose us to photograph their wedding! Tom proposed to Michelle at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Michelle shared this romantic moment with me (photo below). Not many people are lucky enough to have this moment captured on camera! Good job, Tom.
It was so much fun photographing Michelle and her best friend, Alex at Alex's wedding in 2013 and it was just as much fun photographing them together again at Michelle's wedding in 2016. These two are seriously meant for each other; they are absolutely hilarious. Here's the dynamic duo below at each other's weddings:
We shot Michelle and Tom's engagement session in 2014. You can tell by their engagement photos how much in love they are with each other. The couple set their wedding date for January of 2016, so Tony and I patiently awaited for 2016 to come.
In February of 2015, we got some very exciting news! Michelle and Tom were pleased to announce that Michelle was pregnant and their beautiful baby, Weston came into the world in September 2015. We were very excited to meet little Weston for the first time at the wedding. This baby lived up to all of the hype- he is truly an awesome baby! I think he slept nearly the entire wedding, and when he was awake, he just sat and chilled out and watched everything that was happening.
Michelle and Tom's wedding and reception took place at River Crest Farm, a beautiful barn in Dover, Ohio. The venue was beautifully decorated with strands of lights and chandeliers.
Since it was January, Michelle chose UGG boots as her bridal footwear. It was very appropriate. Little Weston was also sporting some awesome boots for the ceremony. While Tom and Michelle got ready, I snapped some detail shots of the boots, garters, jewelry and dress. I was also lucky enough to capture a quick ring shot on Weston's precious little feet while he was waking from a nap.
While Michelle was getting help from her girls getting into her dress, Tom and Weston were having some together time.
Michelle decided to have a first look with her Dad and Tom before the ceremony. These moments are on my top 10 list of favorite wedding moments to capture. I just love to see the expression on a father's face when he sees his daughter as a bride for the first time and the expression on a groom's face when he sees his bride for the first time.
After those tears were wiped, it was time to take some photos with the wedding party! Although it was pretty darn cold out that day, you'd never know it from these photos. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were troopers!
Here are some shots of the beautiful bride:
After surviving the cold, we went back inside the barn for last minute hair and make up touch ups to get ready for the ceremony. I love the photo below of Michelle and Alex taking a peek at all of the guests attending the ceremony.
The ceremony was officiated by one of Tom and Michelle's friends. He did such an amazing job keeping everyone's attention, while making a meaningful ceremony for Michelle and Tom.
After the ceremony we got some more bridal party shots and then some portraits of Michelle and Tom together.
After a wonderful dinner, Tom and Michelle shared their first dance and Michelle and her Dad shared their dance.
To end the night, we captured some ring shots. The decorated venue provided us with plenty of options for detail shots.
Tony and I are so grateful that we got to photograph Michelle and Tom's wedding. We are equally grateful for this long-lasting photography relationship. We've gained great clients and great friends. Thank you Tom and Michelle for letting us be part of your day!
