Valentine's Portrait Session in Columbus

Shortly before Valentine's Day, Mak Rabbitt extended a special offer to our clients. We invited them to join us for a special Valentine's Day portrait session. One of the couples who were interested in this were Ashley and Mike. Ashley and Mike are getting married in October of this year, so we were very excited that we would not only get to shoot for them for their engagement session and wedding, but also for this additional Valentine's Day shoot. They chose the Bicentennial Park / Scioto Mile area in Columbus as the backdrop to their portrait session and Mother Nature could not have served up a better day for this session in FEBRUARY!! Normally, we would be dealing with howling winds, snow, sleet and ice; however, what you will see is nothing short of a Valentine's Day Miracle!

We started our image creation near the bicentennial park path on the benches and made our way around the Scioto Mile path under and on the bridges that make this location so unique and beautiful for portrait sessions.

After much walking, posing and shooting, the artists and the subjects worked up an appetite. We enjoyed the awesome fare at Milestone 229.  If you have not had the opportunity to dine at this beautiful Downtown Columbus, Ohio restaurant, we HIGHLY recommend that you pay them a visit!

After a bite to eat and some great dinner conversation, we were back to work capturing nighttime portraits of the Columbus skyline and our two clients.  The night time temperatures were not as pleasant as our earlier session, but Ashley and Mike were troopers and allowed us to create nighttime magic with them! The results are some of my favorite photos from this location to date.

Ashley and Mike were able to use images from our Valentine's session to create their own custom Save the Date magnets! We were so honored to spend our evening with this lovely couple and capture these Valentine's Day memories for them during the year that they will become husband and wife!  We still have plenty of opportunity ahead to get Ashley and Mike in front of our lenses with an Engagement Session and their October 29th wedding!
