Hillary and Michael's wedding ceremony at the Columbus Park of Roses was full of so much love, family and fun. June 1st blessed us with a gorgeous afternoon to capture excellent images of this loving couple and their family. .
About the Couple
When we first met Hillary, she told us that she taught journalism and worked with many talented students of photography. This made us a little nervous as she was surrounded by talent! Documenting a wedding is not an easy task, and having an Associate Professor of Journalism as your client tends to kick it up a notch. What made us feel great is that Michael is also an Associate Professor; however, Michael teaches marketing, so this made us feel like all of our effort to grow our business finally paid off. If you have not figured it out yet, these two love birds met at work. Hillary and Michael are both educators at Otterbein University here in Columbus, Ohio. Engaged at the Highline in New York City, this couple enjoys camping, sports, cycling and traveling together. Sara and I were honored to allow them to join the "Met at Work" Married Club.
Hillary and Mike chose to have a very private and quaint Jewish service at the small white gazebo next to the perennial garden at the Columbus Park of Roses. The ceremony was very special to them and their families, so Sara and I watched as they exchanged their vows and broke a glass as everyone cheered "Mazol Tov"! Hillary and Mike then took a short stroll through the Columbus Park of Roses while Sara and I set up for formal portraits of the newlyweds, the families, friends and guests.
After the wedding ceremony, we took Hillary and Mike for a little walk to capture some photos of just the two of them. The love between these two is so unreal. We were telling them to "get a room!" the whole time. We love that we didn't even have to tell them once to kiss!
In keeping with their very intimate and quaint theme for their wedding, the couple chose Hyde Park Steakhouse as their location for a family meal. Everyone gathered in a very picturesque room in the back of the restaurant where a lovely banquet would be served. Prior to beginning the meal, Michael's mother blessed the bread by reciting HaMotzi which is customary during Shabbat. The food was delicious and Sara and I were honored to celebrate with this beautiful family.
We took Hillary and Mike's rings and used a New York Times newspaper and Hillary's bouquet to capture some ring detail shots before leaving the family to continue to celebrate.
