About the Couple
Allison and Blake first met at The Ohio State University in 2008 in their "Chem 121" class (awwwwww!). When Allison and Blake graduated from Ohio State and were becoming acclimated with the "Real World," Blake decided that it would be fun for them to take a vacation. Together, they planned an itinerary and agreed on all of the details. Blake; however, had another idea planned for the trip. For the months leading up to the trip, Blake had found a jeweler, purchased a ring and successfully created doubt in Allison's mind. To throw her off of his scent, Blake staged several "fake proposals". For instance, one time they went hiking and climbed up a hill with a beautiful view and Blake got down on one knee…. to tie his shoe. This happened several times. Blake would also comment on his struggles to find the perfect ring. Little did Allison know that he already had the perfect ring. On June 15th, 2014 while walking around the National Mall in the Nation's capitol. Blake got down on one knee at the D.C. WWII monument and asked the 4 most important words of all "Will you marry me?" Without hesitation, Allison said "yes" (obviously).
For their engagement session, it was only fitting that it be held at the OSU campus. For a look at their engagement session click the link HERE. This couple has an extraordinary amount of...Chemistry. We couldn't wait to photograph their wedding. When asked about what they were looking for in their photographs, they said:
Allison and Blake held their wedding ceremony and reception at the beautiful Via Vecchia Winery in the brewery district of Columbus, Ohio. It was a very beautiful warm and sunny day. The ceremony was held in the shade, outside of the winery and the reception was held inside the venue.
The guys arrived at the venue first to get dressed, then they left and took a walk to Claddah Irish Pub, a favorite bar of theirs to get a drink to cool down and loosen up. Allison and her girls then arrived to get ready. While the boys were playing, the girls were having some fun of their own!
Via Vecchia Winery provided some awesome opportunities for detail shots of Allison's dress. Allision's dress was made by Allure, which she purchased from Elegant Bride.
After Allison put on her dress, she read a letter from Blake. This moment was shared by her mom and bridesmaids. Everyone watched as Allison read this heartfelt letter quietly to herself.
Allison and her Dad shared a first look before the ceremony.
After those tears were dried, Allison and Blake also planned to share a first look before the ceremony. The bridal party gathered around the windows inside of the venue to look outside to witness this special moment.
After the first looks, we took some bridal party photos in front of the brick buildings outside the venue.
We still had some time before the ceremony began, so we took the couple downtown near the Scioto Mile. We got some awesome shots of the bride and groom in front of the city.
Right before the ceremony, Tony took the opportunity to get some window shots of the beautiful bride.
The ceremony was held outside of the venue, in a beautiful alley way. Lights were strung up overhead and wine barrels added that winery touch to the ceremony. It was a hot day, but the alleyway was completely shaded by the time the bride walked down the aisle.
After the ceremony, it was time to eat, drink and dance! The venue was beautifully decorated with little touches of Allison and Blake. The couple shared their first dance, followed by the traditional father/daughter and mother/son dances.
They cut the beautiful cake, which was provided by Catering By Scott. Then they got to dancing!
The couple ended the night with some sparklers and a kiss.
