Meghan and Deven first met at a party of a mutual friend near a rock quarry in Glenford, Oh in August of 2013. Meghan was hanging out around the bonfire when Deven approached her and they started talking. Later that evening, they watched a meteor shower together, took a night swim in the quarry and camped out by the fire. The next morning they went out to breakfast, exchanged phone numbers, and the rest is history!
Deven asked Meghan to marry him on March 17, 2016. Here is the proposal as described by Deven:
I asked Meghan if she wanted to take a walk after work at Dawes Arboretum. She loves taking long walks so she quickly agreed. Once we got there we made our way to the look out tower. I stood behind her as we were looking out over the landscape. I wrapped my arms around her and started giving her kisses on the cheek. I then told Meghan how much I loved her and that I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Being Irish, St. Patrick's day is an important holiday to my family and I couldn't think of a better way to make it even more special. I then got down on one knee, I took her hand and looked up at her big brown eyes filled with tears and I asked her to marry me. She said YES.
When we asked the couple if there was anything else they wanted to share about their relationship, Deven said, "It is probably the greatest relationship since the beginning of time." How cute is that?
We met up with Meghan and the girls at United Hair Artists in Lancaster, Ohio where they were getting primped for the big day. The room was full of talking and laughter...and hairspray!
The House at Little Brook Meadows
The couple both got ready in this adorable house on the property of Little Brook Meadows. The whole house was furnished with vintage, country furniture and furnishings. I couldn't get enough of this place! We took some photos of Meghan's dress and details before she put them all on. We also snapped some photos of Meghan and Deven on a Victorian style couch before they had their first look.
The First Look
Prior to seeing each other for the first time before their ceremony, Meghan and Deven exchanged the letters they wrote to each other. When the tears were dried, the couple was ready to see each other. Their first look was as adorable as they are. Deven couldn't contain his tears and Meghan kept wiping them away.
The Bridal Party
If you live in Ohio...you know how the weather can be. We managed to get a few shots of the entire bridal party in front of the beautiful barn at Little Brook before the sky literally opened on us. So, we took our photos to the inside...and the results did not disappoint. We still got amazing photos of Meghan and Deven being Meghan and Deven.
Meghan and Deven's ceremony was supposed to be outside by the lake, but they had to move the ceremony indoors because of the rain. The barn made for a gorgeous backdrop for their vow exchange.
After the ceremony, cocktail hour was enjoyed by the guests. Shorty after, toasts were made, blessings were said and dinner was eaten.
After dinner, Meghan and Deven danced with their mom and dad and then shared their first dance with each other. I love first dances with emotion- and these dances certainly contained all of the emotion I could handle! Between Meghan's mom watching her and her father dance...then Deven's mom's firmly embracing and kissing him....ugh! Emotion! Then we got to Meghan and Deven's dance, which was cute and adorable and wonderful to watch.
While the guests danced, Tony and I borrowed Meghan and Deven's rings so we could take some creative shots with the bouquet and other items. The couple set out Jenga pieces for guests to sign so they could "build memories" with them. We used some of the pieces in out ring shots.
Before the night was over...
we took some photos of Meghan and Deven in the rain. I mean, why not? We also enjoyed capturing the sparkler send off and grabbing just one last shot of the lit up gazebo on the property. Congratulations Meghan and Deven, please stay as adorable as you have always been!!
